I have always believed that books have a way of finding us when we need them most. They are our quiet, loyal friends, offering peace, perspective, and solace… and, importantly, never arguing back.

Long before Anyone for Books existed, reading had already claimed a permanent place in my life (and, if I’m being honest, a good portion of my living space). Some books challenged the way I think. Others offered comfort during uncertain times. Many stayed with me long after I turned the final page and a few made me immediately text someone and say, “You have to read this.”

As a professor teaching business and human resources for many years, I have spent countless hours surrounded by ideas, conversations, and learning. But some of the most meaningful moments have happened outside the classroom in the quiet space between me and a book. That is where reflection deepens, where questions linger, and where growth often begins, usually with a cup of coffee and the promise of “just one more chapter.”

Over time, I realized I wasn’t just reading for knowledge, I was reading for connection, for understanding, and sometimes simply for stillness. Books have a way of carrying us into other lives and other worlds and occasionally making us forget what time it is, what we were supposed to be doing, and why we walked into the kitchen in the first place.

Anyone for Books grew from that realization.

I wanted to create a space that feels intentional rather than overwhelming. A place where books are not rushed through but chosen thoughtfully. Where readers can slow down, explore, and return to what matters without feeling like they need to keep up with every new release (because let’s be honest, that’s impossible).

The books you find here are not selected for trends or noise, but for their ability to offer something lasting, whether that is insight, comfort, or a new way of seeing.

Thank you for being here and for believing, as I do, that there is always room for one more book.
